CONGRATULATIONS TO MALOU AAMUND

RECIPIENT OF THE WOMEN'S BOARD AWARD 2023

Malou Aamund received the board prize, Women's Board Award, on Friday, February 3. The prize was presented by HRH the Crown Princess and jury leader Lars Rasmussen, head of DI's Diversity Council, at Nykredit in Copenhagen in the company of 200 guests from Danish business.

"I am very grateful and proud to receive the award. It's been six months since I left a CEO career to go full-time with board work. I have worked for 25 years in three US tech companies, and I look forward to spending all my time getting European companies to be at the forefront of innovation and value creation in a world of increased geopolitical turmoil and rising inequality that challenges boards."

As a board member, Malou Aamund has experience in digital transformation, sustainability and cyber security in private equity, family-owned and listed companies. His career includes international leadership positions in the IT and Tech industry, at Microsoft and IBM, and most recently as Google's Danish CEO since 2016. Malou Aamund has also been active in politics and a member of the Danish Parliament. Malou Aamund has most recently chosen a full-time board career, and is currently a board member of DSV, Kirkbi, WSAudiology and the Lego Foundation.

There is a Jury of experienced board leaders , who has chosen Malou Aamund as the recipient of the Women's Board Award 2023, with jury leader Lars Rasmussen in the lead:

"Malou Aamund receives the award especially because she shows that there are many paths to the boardroom. The important thing about board work is to have experience that is relevant to the company's situation, and Malou has gained her experience precisely by choosing more than most in her career choices. This makes her a very inspiring role model and a really good representative of the striking diversity we see when we in the jury evaluate the candidates."

Malou Aamund has been selected from an extensive pool of female board members, who are ready to take on a chairmanship, and with their skills, ambitions and personal appearance, are role models for future board leaders of both genders.

"The award is given to candidates with chairman potential, and I see it as my responsibility not only to be sure that there is diversity on a board, but to make sure that the different competencies are brought into play, so that we listen, challenge and ultimately stand stronger, in a world that demands responsible leadership," concludes Malou Aamund.

The award also comes with a membership of Board Network as well as a painting by the international artist, Shefali Ranthe .

THE JURY'S MOTIVATION

Early in her career, Malou Aamund chose to get involved in board work in parallel with senior positions in global companies in the IT and Tech industry, where she has gained solid, cross-disciplinary experience in strategic business development, customer and partner relations and change management.

Malou Aamund is particularly recognized for contributing highly competently with future-oriented analyses in a commercially sustainable context and for contributing constructively to the inclusion of multifaceted views in order to make the best decisions.

On the board of directors, Malou Aamund contributes with strong competencies and a focus on digital transformation, sustainability and cyber security in Private Equity, holding and listed companies.

International experience, global outlook, as well as experience from her years in politics have also strengthened Malou Aamund's understanding of how important it is to get different points of view to meet in complex situations.

Innovation, transformation of business and development of organizations and people must, according to Malou, go hand in hand, which is why good and sustainable management is important to get on the agenda. Malou makes her mark on the basis of facts, analyses and a natural and positive interest in people and relationships, where strong core values are fundamental and where a balanced robustness is prominent.

Since 2022, Malou Aamund has chosen to focus fully on a professional board career, and is a great asset to the boards she is already a part of, and will undoubtedly also be so for the boards she may be part of in the future. Thus, the jury has had no doubt that Malou Aamund deserves to receive the honor Women's Board Award 2023 - a big congratulations!
