200 prominent guests participated when Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary presented TV2's director, Merete Eldrup, with the award as the winner of the Women's Board Award. With the honor comes a scholarship to Harvard Business School.
THE JURY'S MOTIVATION
It is with the greatest pleasure that we can present the Women's Board Award to a woman who is a role model for future board members and leaders – of both genders. A role that she has already proven that she masters through her position as a respected CEO.
Our award winner is something special! She has been given a fight to the line for this award from other well-educated, result-creating, sharp and visible candidates.
So why has this particular woman been chosen as the winner?
The jury justifies the choice of the winner of the Women's Board Award 2015 with the following:
The winner of the Women's Board Award is a woman with opinions that she likes to express in the public space. She is not afraid to put herself on the line and does it professionally with a twinkle in her eye.
The winner has moved in heavy industries, with strict codes of conduct for how to act. She has handled this with great success – just as she does in her current position as a top executive in an industry that traditionally does not want to be managed at all.
In 2014, she was the top scorer in the CEO-Superbrands analysis among 40 Danish CEOs. This testifies to her strong leadership and credible and respected profile.
The winner is a role model with impact, and when you have a strong charisma like her, even big decisions can be easier to implement. She has a clear opinion on why more women should go the board route. And she has repeatedly pointed out that too much knowledge is lost when only a fraction of Denmark's many well-qualified women are at the board table.
The winner is successful in her board positions, where she contributes with her strategic, political, analytical and, not least, communicative skills. The Ramboll Group, Gyldendal and the Nykredit Association benefit from this. In the award winner's own words, her driving force is curiosity and the desire to create change.
All this, combined with her special skills from a career in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, the Danish Energy Agency and Politikens Hus, makes her highly qualified for a future as chairman of the board.
