THE JURY'S MOTIVATION

The jury behind the Women's Board Award 2025 has chosen Henriette Hallberg Thygesen as this year's award recipient with the following reason:

At a time when strong management experience and constant business development are crucial for value creation on Danish boards, the jury behind the Women's Board Award 2025 has chosen to award the prestigious Board Award to Henriette Hallberg Thygesen. With an active board career in significant companies and a business career spanning over three decades in A.P. Moller – Maersk, and her most recent appointment as CEO of Denmark's largest defence company, Terma A/S, Henriette represents a rare combination of global experience, strategic insight and board competence.

Henriette Hallberg Thygesen has shown how important it is to master strategic management and at the same time be close to the core business and customers. She has had the courage to prioritize, focus and respond to geopolitical and macroeconomic conditions and has proven with great conviction that she is able to analyze and lead in complex business environments.

Through several senior management roles – in the Group and subsidiaries – and now as CEO of a strategically important technology company, she has built up a special experience in leading complex organizations in constant change. Her management career spans several continents and industries, and she has led both transformation, growth and crisis management in highly competitive markets.

This is needed in the boardroom – also in the future.

In the context of the board, she is particularly recognized for her sharp analysis and competent, present participation. She clearly shares her opinions and updated knowledge on relevant agendas. She positively challenges her board colleagues by, among other things, addressing contemporary and difficult agendas and shows her ability to balance between risks and opportunities.

In addition, she has a clear opinion that Denmark needs more female CEOs and top executives who can constitute an even stronger pipeline of female board members and leaders. Leaders who can bring their experience from operational management into the boardroom.
