BRITT MEELBY JENSEN

THE JURY'S MOTIVATION

Britt has a long and impressive career in Life Science with more than 20 years of experience from leading roles in companies such as Novo Nordisk, Dako, Zealand Pharma, Atos Medical and now as CEO of Ambu. Since Britt joined Ambu in early 2022, she has been in charge of a major restructuring where the development and implementation of a new strategy with an increased focus on customers, organisation, adaptation and growth has been on the agenda, resulting in clearly improved results.

At the same time, Britt has developed a solid board career, with conscious choices and opt-outs, and currently sits as a board member at Novo Holding, Hempel Fonden and Hempel Invest, respectively.

Denmark needs more female CEOs in order to be able to expand the pipeline of female board leaders/members in the long term. Being close to and understanding the core business is an essential and necessary prerequisite for being able to contribute competently in the boardroom.

The challenges that companies have to deal with today are complex and the future is not getting any less complex. Britt is therefore an exponent of the board's ability to lead strategically with precise insight into the core business and with geopolitical and macroeconomic insight and understanding. For Britt, good board leadership is daring to talk about the difficult things, being brave, and being able to both anticipate and balance between risks and opportunities. Britt is also a strong voice in ESG and diversity.

As a board member, Britt is particularly recognized for contributing extremely competently, professionally and well-prepared, while at the same time she is happy to challenge and show edge when necessary. She is thus a great asset to the boards she is already a part of and will certainly be so for the boards she may be part of in the future.

More than 10 years of experience as CEO of several large companies, as well as experience from several board positions, means that the jury considers a highly qualified candidate for a position as chairman of the board of a larger company. A combination of deep business understanding, solid and well-documented leadership skills and results, as well as a clear attitude to what a board should deliver, means that the jury has no doubt that Britt deserves to receive the honor Women's Board Award 2024.
