PRESS INFORMATION 2020

On Friday 31 January 2020, 56-year-old Anne Louise Eberhard received the prestigious Women's Board Award. The award was presented by HRH The Crown Princess at Deloitte in Copenhagen in the company of 200 invited guests.

After a long-standing career as a top executive, including at Danske Bank, Anne Louise Eberhard has chosen a full-time career as a professional board member with current positions in FLSmidth, Financial Stability, Bavarian Nordic and TopDanmark.

"Receiving an award like the Women's Board Award means a lot to me. I think I make an effort where I am, and when the jury and colleagues support my work, both professionally and as a person, I can only be extremely humble and grateful. Most importantly, I hope to inspire many more women to take on their careers and the exciting challenges and experiences that come with it," said the winner in his acceptance speech.

A jury of experienced board leaders has chosen Anne Louise Eberhard as the recipient of the Women's Board Award 2020, headed by Thomas Thune Andersen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ørsted:
"Denmark has fallen back in the rankings – we should not and do not need to when we have such strong candidates as this year's winner and previous award winners. There is a very strong female pipeline that we must understand how to exploit far better than we can."

"In addition to a strong executive career and relevant board experience, it is important that the award recipient can and will use the award to be an active ambassador for the diversity that is lacking in the Danish board landscape. We need competent, clear role models who dare to take the lead."

Hans Henrik Lüttichau-Holm, Managing Director of Alumni, which is behind the selection of the candidates, says about this year's award winner:

"She has what is required of a modern board leader. She is highly professional, has strong social and facilitation skills, and she demonstrates an impressive depth of her strategic and commercial understanding across the industries in her portfolio."

Susanne Hoeck, co-founder of the Women's Board Award, adds:

"We want to change it stereotype of what a chairman or top manager looks like. The candidates represent a wide range of women with different skills, experiences and personal profiles. Gender can be a competence in itself, but overall it is about focusing on the business potential of diversity, as 'usually' is no longer a reliable solution."

Anne Louise Eberhard is the seventh recipient of the Women's Board Award in Denmark. She has been selected from an extensive pool of female board members who do not currently hold a chairmanship, but are considered to have the potential to lead a board. The candidates have delivered proven financial results and have strong references from their business careers both inside and outside the boardroom.
