Women’s Board Award 2026

On Friday, September 25th, the top of Danish business celebrated three remarkable business profiles who had made it through the eye of the needle as candidates for the only board award for women with the potential for a top-level board leadership position. At the award ceremony, the focus was on the importance of AI for boards, with Margrethe Vestager as the keynote speaker.

It is a jury of experienced board members who have chosen Christina Grumstrup as the recipient of the award, with jury leader Claus V. Hemmingsen as jury leader:

– This year's award recipient, Christina Grumstrup, possesses significant leadership weight as Senior Partner and Founder at CIP, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, a prominent global player in energy infrastructure. Additionally, she has many years of board experience from DSB and Terma.

– Christina Grumstrup Sørensen represents a remarkable combination of business acumen, strategic vision, board experience, and a strong potential to take on even greater responsibility in future boardrooms.

– Christina is also a strong role model for other women. Her message is not just about representation, but about creating the communities, relationships, and structures that enable growth and responsibility.

The jury's assessment matched the award recipient, Christina Grumstrup's, own approach to the board role:

– Board work is a real responsibility, and it entails obligations, but it also gives a lot back. I have met leaders with completely different backgrounds and seen how others handle decisions in a rapidly changing world. It challenges my conventional thinking and makes me a better leader.

Susanne Hoeck, founder of Women’s Board Award, highlights that receiving one of Denmark's most recognized awards in the board world is particularly special this year.

– 2026 is a special year because it is the year when the EU directive on a more equal gender balance in the boards of the largest companies must be implemented. This puts extra focus on an agenda we have worked for many years: to highlight the best female board profiles so that we get more women into the boardrooms.

In addition to the honor, the award includes an exclusive board program at DTU Board Education & Certificates.
